Welcome to the InsideRide guide to the Col de la Colmiane (from Nice) augmented route on Rouvy. Please read on to see details and photographs on the route, route profiles, and our own ride data on this route.
The Col de la Colmiane (from Nice) route on Rouvy consists of a long flat ride out from Nice for the first 40km, followed by the 15km climb to Col de la Colmiane. This climb will feature in both the 2020 editions of the Tour de France, and Paris-Nice.
The first half of the route ascends gradually, climbing alongside the river Le Var. The scenery dominated by a route carved out of the rock, with a number of rock arches and tunnels to ride through. After 20km the route breaks away from Le Var, climbing instead along La Tinée. After around 35km the route turns on to the road to Valdeblore and La Colmiane, climbing much more rigorously along green forested hillsides.
Again, and it probably will not outlive the ŠKODA – We Love Cycling Challenge on Rouvy, but on this Course a shiny silver Skoda awaits your arrival at the finish line.
Being a Rouvy Augmented Route the video quality is excellent throughout. The weather is good, though too good at times, leading to a little bleaching.
This route just kept on going – in the end it was probably a bit too much for us!
