Welcome to the InsideRRR preview of the Zion National Park West Tunnel course by Pat Fulghum on Fulgaz. Please read on to see our thoughts on the route, course profile and images, and our own ride data.
Route Description
The Zion National Park West Tunnel course on Kinomap is starts and ends at the Pa’rus Trailhead on the Virgin River, climbing up and descending back down to the Zion Mount-Carmel Tunnel in-between.
The scenery throughout is dominated by deep blue skies, and the sandstone cliffs of the surrounding peaks including The East Temple and Bridge Mountain. Simply breathtaking. The route passes through the tunnel checkpoint, but does not enter the tunnel. Instead the rider spins through 180º, returning through the same setting to the trailhead.
The video is recorded by Fulgaz contributor Pat Fulghum in stabilised 4K, and the scenery looks beautiful. The route timing felt spot on throughout, and the timing of the original filming was at a sensible pace, avoiding pixelation for slower riders (like me!).
This route is absolutely superb – we have added it to our favourite rides section. What did you think? join the conversation below.
