Welcome to the InsideRide guide to the Astense Aa 5k route on Kinomap. Please read on to see details and photographs on the route, elevation profile, and our own run data.
The Astense Aa 5K route is a perfectly pleasant run in the Dutch countryside, in part following the Astense Aa, and the remainder through fields and woods to produce a short 5km loop. The section along the river is the real highlight of this route.
The video is well filmed to 720p with stabilised picture, so makes for a pleasant run all around – though there is little spectacular jumping out of the route to talk about. All routes on Kinomap seem to be filmed by users, so the quality can be variable – this route is well filmed, the route itself just does not blow us away. Also some mapping overlay exists on the base video, in part truncated due to the change in screen ratio.
This was our first run on Kinomap with the Zwift RunPod transmitting meaningful data – and therefore the first in which the speed felt anywhere like ‘real world’. More on that to follow in a subsequent article.
It was also a revisitation of our 5km run as part of the Ironman VR3 event – their portal did not seem to like the 5km Loop on Zwift from the day prior. More on that to follow separately too!
