Welcome to the InsideRide guide to the Running in Paris from route on Kinomap. Please read on to see details and photographs on the route, elevation profile, and our own run data.
This was our first meaningful activity on Kinomap, primarily to test how well front facing camera view worked on the iPad in comparison to running in real life.
Kinomap front camera view overestimates power unless stride is considerably lengthened – providing a disincentive to run properly! As a result we’ve ordered a Zwift RunPod to measure power – more on that once it has arrived and we’ve tested it.
As this was our first virtual run, it is a little difficult to comment on the video quality. That said video is available in UHQ, the picture was stable, and it was filmed on a beautiful day – which all made for a very pleasant virtual run.
The route on the other hand is spectacular, and well worn. Starting at Notre Dame Cathedral the route crosses the Seine over the Pont d’Arcole. The route then runs along the Seine, past the Louvre to the right, and the Orsai to the left, with the skyline dominated by the Eiffel Tower and the Pont Alexandre III – coming to an end a little after the bridge. A more famous and picturesque 3.5km it is harder to imagine.
