Welcome to the InsideRRR walkthrough of our individual time trial (ITT) race on the Olympic Time Trial Circuit, part of the Ikigai series of races on RGT.
The event took place on a Magic Road of the Olympic Time Trial course lap, begining and ending at the Fuji International Motorsport Stadium in Japan. As a magic road the road is accurately modeled to the route and profile of the GPX file sent to RGT, but the scenery is rendered to a graphics pack rather than seeking to accurately recreate the surrounding area.
The Individual Time Trial format was nice too, with riders being set off at 10 second intervals. The starting order was less clear – I was not entirely sure if this was dictated by the order of signup to the event, or by the order of joining the event (or some other index).
I started the race near to the back of the pack, and despite not riding particularly well, was only overtaken a couple of times by riders starting behind, and managed to catch on rider who had started ahead.
The route is hardly ever flat, dropping down from the Speedway, before climbing back up the slopes of Mount Fuji, dropping again before climbing back up to take ina lap of the Speedway itself.
My performance wasn’t the strongest – but was a fairly decent reflection on my fitness. With a functional threshold pace of 209W, this effort was only around 10% off that. To be expected given that I’m still recovering from bronchitis, and getting used to an integrated smart trainer (Wattbike Atom). I’ll hope to be more competitive as time goes on, and as I get used to racing on RGT more.
Hope that you enojyed the write up – see you on the magic road!

Hi, The order you set off in is the order that you “join” the holding pen in. So if you look at the number of riders just above the rider list to the left of the screen when you join you’ll get an idea of how long before you set off.
Great riding, hope you enjoy the rest of the series.
